Syncing with iPhone
To sync successfully, start by making sure WatchKeeper is already set up on the iPhone. The trip, crew, and watch schedule should be created there first. Once that is done, open WatchKeeper on the iPhone and then open the watch app. This gives both devices a chance to exchange the current schedule state.
If syncing is working normally, the watch app should show the same active trip context as the phone, including the current watch and upcoming handover information. Small delays can happen, especially right after setup or after reopening the apps, but the watch should catch up once the iPhone app is active and the devices are connected.
If the watch does not seem current, first check the basics. Make sure the iPhone and Apple Watch are paired correctly, that both devices are unlocked and active, and that WatchKeeper has already been opened on the phone. In many cases, simply opening the app on both devices is enough to refresh the current state.
Because the iPhone is the main source of truth, major trip changes should always be made there. The watch is best used for quick status checks and alerts rather than full schedule editing.
What to Check
- WatchKeeper is set up on the iPhone first.
- The active trip exists on the phone.
- Both devices have been opened recently.
- The Apple Watch is paired and connected normally.
- The watch app has had time to refresh after setup or changes.
A good sync experience starts with the iPhone. Once the phone has the correct trip and current state, the watch can mirror that information and make it easier to check the schedule at a glance.
