Installing the watch app

If you use WatchKeeper with Apple Watch, installing the watch app gives you a quicker way to check the current watch, see upcoming handovers, and receive watch-related alerts from your wrist. The watch app is meant to support the iPhone experience, not replace the phone as the main setup device.

To install the watch app, first make sure WatchKeeper is already installed on your iPhone and that your Apple Watch is paired with that iPhone. Open the Watch app on your iPhone, find WatchKeeper in the list of available apps, and choose to install it on the watch. Once installation finishes, the WatchKeeper app should appear on your Apple Watch.

After installing, open the watch app once to confirm it can load the current trip information. If your crew is already using an active watch schedule, the watch should reflect the current watch state after syncing from the phone. If nothing appears right away, give it a moment and make sure the iPhone app has already been opened and set up.

It is a good idea to test the watch app before departure. Check that it opens correctly, shows the expected watch information, and delivers notifications the way your crew expects. Apple Watch notification behavior can depend on iPhone settings, watch settings, and whether the watch is being worn and unlocked.
